Bridging the gap between HE and the labour market

Despite most HE students being accustomed to the digital setting, many lack the digital skills required in most labour market environments. This course aims to allow HE teachers to learn more about the different digital skills valued by the labour market and how these skills can be fostered in the activities proposed in the classroom.
This training is part of the Erasmus+ project "Back2Basics", coordinated by the University of Aveiro and with partners in Portugal, Spain and Greece (https://www.back2basicsproject.eu/). The course has HE staff from the University of Aveiro with teaching activity as its target audience. The sessions are articulated with DigComp 2.2 (The Digital Competence Framework for Citizens) and will cover online communication and netiquette, information literacy, cybersecurity, health protection and well-being, and online content creation.
The training will be given in English by the different project partners and will have participants from the partner countries. It includes, therefore, some optional sessions, which will be to get to know the University campus and more cultural activities, and 5 synchronous sessions, of compulsory attendance, namely:
Day 3: 2:30 pm-5:00 pm
Day 4: 9:30 am-12:30 pm and 2 pm-5 pm
Day 5: 9:30 am-12:30 pm
Day 6: 10 am-12 pm
* all activities have coffee break included and lunch on days 4, 5 and 6.
This initiative is part of the Pedagogical Training and Updating Program of the University of Aveiro.
